It seems.....

Hmmm, it seems that there is something huge missing from my life at the moment..... I'm not writing. I know I'm employed for the moment. But clicking links just isn't cutting it anymore. Then the email came..... They want me to update/write/edit/fix a whole bunch of documents. This will add to my work and could be for the next couple of months. The head of editorial stated that she already has about 40ish hours ready for me. This doesn't include the remainder of the testing that needs to be done for the site.

I can't be happier at the moment. I will finally get to use the skills I spent the last 2 years of my life getting to use. And, to top it off, for a company I really enjoy working for.

Now to find a way to fill the other voids in my life.....

I know they probably will never read this, but... CONGRATS to all of the Canadian medal winners!! ^_^

You Gotta Have......

Good Friends.....

Today was the Pic-Knit at the Surrey Museum. I really wanted to go but had to wait for my brother to fix my car. So there was a huge chance I wouldn't be able to go. When I was getting ready, while he was fixin my car, I got a phone call from Ilix (SilverIlix on rav). She was calling to see if I needed to be picked up for the event. It made me smile that she would do that for me.

Yarn! Spinning! Fiber!

The Pic-Knit was cool. It was like a smaller fiber fest. I think Ilix knew everyone there, well almost everyone and DragonRhapsody was there as well. There was some amazing yarn that I wanted just to have in my stash but I stopped myself from purchasing more yarn. I now know where to get it when I figure out to make with it. DragonRhapsody purchased a drop spindle kit that had the spindle, instructions and some roving. We were sitting knitting and one of the ladies was kind enough to show DragonRhapsody how to start.

Company......

After the Pic-knit we visited our friend Splynk at Knitopia. It was a nice visit and I purchased some yarn for a pair of gloves that my Mom's friend wants. The hour we were there went by way to quickly.

Tonight will be more organizing/cleaning up the house and working. Tomorrow will be more housework; some yardwork, if there is no rain; and a birthday BBQ for a friend. For those of you that read this and know me you will never know how much I appreciate you and how much you mean to me as a friend. Thanks for who you are and what you do. ^_^

Much has happened

Wow, August already. Time has flown by. My contract is up with my current employer so I am on the hunt for a job. There are a few places in the Lower Mainland mostly in Surrey and Langley. There are lots in Vancouver, but I want to try the ones closer to home first.

I also, hopefully, will get a part-time job as well. Where..... I'm lookin.

Knitting projects have been going great. I almost have my stash organized and ready for all the gift/charity knitting that I want to do in the near future. I have one more set of Fetching to do and I want to get at least 2 pairs of Spirogyra done before the end of the month. Then onto some baby outfits and blankets to give to well, babies. ^_^

When I was talking to my Mom earlier tonight she informed me that there probably is a bunch of her Halloween costumes in the house. Time to go hunting.....

The best news of the week..... My Mom and Dad will be out the last week of August. ^_^ The bad news is I really, really, REALLY need to get my house so very clean. It's going to be harder this time 'cause my brother won't be here to help.

It's the 25th!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, it's been a long time since I have been so very excited for a new movie. The X-files: I want to believe is out and I have resisted skipping work and going to see it. I have read a couple of plot-less reviews and there seems to be many that don't like it because, they say, it seems like an extended episode with the reunion of Mulder and Scully. Gosh, I'm getting giggggggly just thinking about going to the movie. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Work is going amazing. The site has been revamped, again, and there are different errors than before! The sucky thing is they want the testing done by Monday. There goes my weekend, but I am getting paid for it so oh well.

YAY! I just watched a trailer on TV and it looks like...... YAY!

The Nightmare Before Christmas

I know we have yet to hit August, but I can't stop thinking about....... Halloween! It's about time to start thinking about costumes and how easy/difficult they will be to put together. I have a bad habit of picking costumes that not many understand who I am supposed to be. Last year I tried a vampire and ended up looking more goth than anything.

My top 3 so far.....

Miranda Priestly from the Devil wears Prada

Mrs. Lovett from Sweeny Todd

Or my Pirate.... Now that I have the oh-so-amazing tricorne pattern. ^_^

I also got some work, finally. I think I will be working all weekend to get everything done. There is also a job for a technical writer at a company in White Rock. I have to update my resume and send it off with a cover letter. Much better than a job downtown and I can get out of the house.

So, the only time that I am planning to have to myself this weekend is going to the X-Files movie. I think I may have found someone excited enough to see it opening night. I just found out that my brother's girlfriend is a Phile as well. After waiting so very long, it's here in a couple of days. I have watched a few clips online and I am so very excited.

Oh! I also finished Sophie's octo. I just have to get her mailing address to send it to her. I am almost done the lime octo. I just have to finish the tentacles, then stitch it all up. I'm going to take both to knit night, probably the knitopia one, to see what the ladies think of them. The lime one could be easily shipped and stuffed when it arrives, while the one for Sophie just may cause troubles with the size and weight of the item.

Needle Felting

I picked up a needle felting kit and some fiber. It's a little tricky to get the fibers to get what you want them to do. I wanted to make a duck, the colours I have would be perfect for a rubber ducky felted creature, but it didn't turn out like that. Now the creation looks like a little yellow birdie. I still don't know if I like it and I have no idea if the thing is finished. I'll let the ladies at knit night have a look and tell me if it needs... more....

I also sent out Fetching to my Mom. I hope she will like them. I'm going to start Spirogya later tonight. I hope they will turn out as well as Fetching did.

Gosh....

After spending way to much time on Youtube watching "So you think you can dance" I had the brilliant thought to look up my old dance teachers. One was very easy to find. The studio is still in operation, even though she is using the same old tired songs. It even looks like the same set of ladies that were in the Adult group when I left the studio 15 years ago.

The other teacher I looked up is, thankfully, still teaching.. I think..... There isn't much information about what happened to the Factory and when I looked at the schedule her initials don't show. I am so very tempted to phone the company she is working for and asking what she is doing now. That just might be to invasive.

Now I'm wondering what happened to classmates.... did they make it as dancers.... did they try..... only google will tell.

Oi

Internet access was down for the weekend. Something to do with the server's network going all wonky. I wanted to get some more stuff entered into ravelry and play some pirates. Oh well. Good thing is I got some housework done and found a new obsession with some TV shows.

I'm looking forward to some of the shows on Canada Day. Until knit night, if it's still on. And Gossamer should be updating tomorrow, so I might be reading lots tomorrow night.

I guess the only good news is that I got wireless working at my house. So I can work on my laptop. Now all I have to do is clean the deck and setup outside.

In the key of X

Just about a month to go for the new X-files movie. I would like to go opening night, since I think August will be a very busy month. I have added a neat widget to my blog that counts down the time until the movie.

A new obsession

I have decided to go as green as I can. I'm starting by doing the easiest things I can. I have replaced most of my light bulbs with the energy efficient ones, I rarely drive my car and I just got all of my recycling stuff from the township (it was only 2 weeks late).

On a knitting note, I spent last night testing out a pattern from a book Jules gave me. I am blocking the pieces at the moment. I like how fast it knit up but I won't use that self striping yarn remnants to test clothing.

Going to try this again....

Hai. Time to try blogging again. It's been to long and I have no idea what the password/email account my last one was on.

I joined Ravelry today. It's a knitting/crochet community. So far so good, now to enter all of my yarn and needles and projects.
